Château de Montségur – The Souls Who Waited 774 Years
Some journeys are planned.
Others are written in the stars long before we remember why we must go.
In 2018, I was called to Southern France. The pull was undeniable, almost urgent… yet I hesitated. I waited too long to sign up for the sacred pilgrimage. When I finally called Patricia McGivern of Divine Sacred Feminine to secure my place, she gently told me the trip was full. The last two spaces had just been taken.
My heart sank.
Deep within, I knew I was meant to be there. This was not a casual desire. It was a soul directive.
In the silence that followed, my spirit guides spoke with unusual firmness.
When we urge you to move, do not delay.
Trust the timing.
Do not worry… we will make a way.
Weeks have passed. Then one afternoon, the phone rang. Patti’s voice was filled with excitement and disbelief.
“Kim… you are not going to believe this. Two people just canceled. There is now a place for you.”
I screamed with joy. I could feel destiny rearranging itself. I had no idea what awaited me… only that I was being guided into something profound.
There would be many miraculous moments on that journey.
But the experience at Montségur would reveal why my presence was truly needed.
On March 16, 1244, one of the most tragic spiritual events in European history unfolded on the mountain of Montségur.
For months, the Cathars had been surrounded by the Pope’s armies. Their hilltop sanctuary had become a final refuge. Rather than renounce their beliefs, more than 200 men, women, and children chose death in the flames below.
Historical accounts say they walked down the mountainside singing… proclaiming their love for God as they entered the fire.
They were known as the Pure Ones.
They lived what they called the Church of Love. A path of equality. Spiritual wisdom. Simplicity. Direct connection with the Divine. They honored the living teachings of Yeshua and Mary Magdalen and believed deeply in the sacred Divine Union.
Their faith was not doctrine.
It was embodiment.
It was love lived openly in a time that could not yet receive it.
Nearly eight centuries later… I stood at the base of that very mountain.
It was April 23, 2018.
The moment I lifted my eyes and saw the castle ruins resting high upon the jagged peak, something ancient awakened inside me. A recognition beyond logic. A memory beyond time.
Others in my group began climbing ahead of me, eager and determined. But I moved slowly. I could feel the land. The mountain was alive with emotion.
As I began the ascent, waves of sorrow, fear, and unbearable grief flooded my body.
About a quarter of the way up… I collapsed into uncontrollable sobbing.
At first, I believed I was remembering a lifetime as a Cathar priest. Yet as the tears continued to pour, I understood something far greater was happening.
These emotions were not only mine.
They were the mountain’s memory.
They were the souls who had never left.
Unable to continue, I descended and made my way to the memorial marking where the fires once burned. I sat in meditation and entered a deep state of channeling.
Guided from within, I stood and began sending healing.
From my heart poured a radiant cobalt blue light, rising toward the castle ruins at the summit. Then the light expanded outward, wrapping the entire mountain in a living field of Divine compassion.
And then… the miraculous began.
Spirits started emerging.
They stepped forward from the broken stones… from the forest… from the unseen spaces between worlds. There were hundreds of them.
They had remained trapped there for 774 years.
Fear had bound them. Trauma had held them between realms.
Suddenly I found myself astrally present among them. With deep tenderness, I spoke to them. I explained that the light before them was not punishment… it was freedom. It was Love.
To help them trust, I walked through the veil first.
One by one… they followed.
Then many more.
Women clutching children. Elderly souls who had waited centuries. Groups holding hands. Even a loyal dog crossed with them into peace.
As they moved into the light, the energy of the mountain shifted.
A profound stillness… a sacred release… filled the air.
Later, they shared that they had been waiting for me.
I had traveled across lifetimes… across countries… across years… to stand in that exact place at that exact moment.
And as is often the case… I was the last to know.
When we finally left Montségur that day, still stunned by what had occurred, many of these souls came forward to thank me. Even as we drove away, I could feel their presence surrounding the car like a blessing.
That evening we returned to the ancient castle where we were staying. A gentle stream flowed outside the open window, its sound timeless and soothing. I began taking photographs, wanting to capture the beauty of the night.
The next morning… I gasped.
Hundreds of luminous orbs filled the images.
Instantly I knew.
These were the Cathars.
Now free to move between worlds… they had come in gratitude.
Some remain connected with me even now. Others continue their sacred journey, spreading love among humanity on the Earth plane.
My heart remains forever changed by that day.
For we are living in a time when ancient wounds are being healed…
when forgotten souls are being remembered…
and when Love itself is returning to Earth.
The New Earth is not coming.
It is being born… through moments like this.
